Biography
Born in 1888 at Wimbledon, son of William Joel (Asylum Attendant, later House Decorator and Shop Assistant) and Sarah Jane Slater. 1901: A Scholar with his family at 12 Oxford Terrace, Chigwell Road, South Woodford. 1911: A House Decorator, living with his family at 1 Granville Buildings, Chigwell Road, South Woodford. In 1912 he married Lilly Rosa Hampton in Winchester.
Having enlisted in Southampton, he arrived in Egypt on 1st July 1915. He went on to Gallipoli where he died from a ruptured bladder.
