On 19th September 1918 the Battalion with 53 Brigade was at St Emilie in France (Cambrai Sector), and at 11.00 they participated in an attack. By 20.00 their line ran from Zebra Post to Basse Boulogne, and they held these positions next day. On 21st September with the Brigade and elements of 12 Division they made a further attack, achieving their objectives of Egg Post, Grafton Trench and Tombots Farm. Unfortunately the Germans mounted a very successful counter attack, and the objectives had to be given up. It was during this action that Wilfred Plaster was Killed in Action.
