
Born in 1897 at Woodford Bridge, son of Thomas Henry (Undertakers Manager and Coffin Maker) and Annie Martha Ewens. 1911: A Clerk to a Shipping Agent, living with his family at 5 Waltham Terracem, High Road, Woodford Bridge (the same as 1901). His father the manager for T Osborne & Sons Undertakers of Woodford Bridge. In 1917 Thomas married Nellie C. Gunton.
He joined 10 Royal Fusiliers at outbreak of war. After 1 years service he was Commissioned into the Northumberland Fusiliers. On the day of his death, during the German retreat to the Hindenburg Line, a shell exploded close to him causing instantly fatal injuries. He was aged 21.
