Biography
Stanley Curnow was born in 1889 in Barnet, Hertfordshire. His mother must have died shortly afterwards as the 1891 census records his father, John, a 31 year old builder from Cornwell as a widower. Stanley had a sister one year older than him, called Mabel. By 1911, the two of them were living together at 42 Stanhope Gardens, Ilford and Stanley was listed as an architect.
Stanley served as a Trooper in the East African Mounted Rifles. He died at Base Hospital, Kajiado in British East Africa (now Uganda) on 5th December 1915, aged 26 years old.
