Biography 

Richard Ralph Evans was born in 1899, in Notting Hill. He was the son of merchant William Evans and his wife Agnes. Richard was the youngest of three children; his older sisters were named Eleanor and Margaret. In 1901, the family lived at 10 Cambridge Gardens in Hanwell.

By1911, the family had moved to 7 Woodlands Avenue, Wanstead, at which point the three Evans children were still at school.

Richard joined the RAF and became a Lieutenant with the 5th Squadron. He died in Germany on the 20th August 1919 as part of the occupation forces and is buried in Cologne Southern Cemetery, Germany.
