Biography 

Born in 1893 at Walthamstow, son of Alfred Jordan (Mercantile later Insurance Clerk) and Agnes Champ. 1901: With his family at 878 Forest Road, Walthamstow.1911: An Insurance Clerk with his family at “Delamare” 878 Forest Road, Walthamstow. By 1915 the family home was at “Glenelg” 43 Fullers Road, South Woodford.

Leonard worked for New Zealand Insurance Ltd at their London office. He enlisted as a Private in the London Regiment during 4th August 1914, and was he was commissioned into 7 Essex Regiment via the University of London O.T.C. Having arrived in France on 26th May 1916, at the time of his death he was attached to 12 Field Company Royal Engineers.

He sustained an accidental gunshot wound to his foot, reportedly in the Lagnicourt area of the Louverval Sector on 2nd March 1918, and died from septic poisoning at 3 Casualty Clearing Station Dernancourt on 19th March 1918.
