Biography
Born in 1897 at Woodford, son of George (Bricklayers Labourer) and Florence Curtis. 1901: With his family at 3 Holly Terrace, Cann Hall, Leytonstone. 1911: A scholar with his family at 25 Oxford Terrace, Lower Road, South Woodford.
Though not participating in any major engagements, Joseph Curtis was among a handful of men from the Regiment who were Killed in Action at Ypres that day.
