Biography 

Johnson Vivian Jeffrey was born in Leyton on 3rd October 1898, the only child of William and Lilly Jeffrey. In 1911, the family was living at The Pumping Station, Waterworks, Redbridge, Ilford. At this time, Johnson was 12 and still in school.

Johnson enlisted in the army with the 3rd Battalion, City of London Fusiliers. He was killed in action on the 10th August 1918 and buried at Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery, Department de la Somme, Picardie, France.
