Biography 

Edward William Gulliver was born in Swansea, Wales, in 1892. By 1911 he was living with his uncle’s family at 2 Natal Parade, Natal Road, Ilford. He was employed as a railway goods clerk.

In November 1915, he enlisted into the territorial forces of the army, at which point he was living at 249 Ilford Lane, Ilford. Later, Edward served as a Lance Corporal in the 22nd (County of London) Battalion (The Queens), the London Regiment. He was killed in action on 7th November 1917, aged 25 years old, probably in the final assault on the Turkish-Ottoman town of Gaza, Palestine. His name is featured on the Jerusalem Memorial in Israel.
