Born in 1879 at Epping Green, son of John (Wheelwright) and Elizabeth Trevett. 1901: A Cowman on a farm, with his parents and family at 10 Wallers Cottages, Woodford Bridge. In 1911 he was a General Labourer, living with his sister Minnie, a Laundress, at 28 Smeaton Road, Woodford Bridge (Chigwell).
He enlisted at Woodford, being allocated to the East Surrey Regiment.
In July 1917 the Battalion was in the Villiers-Plouich Sector of Cambrai, and regularly on the receiving end of German shellfire. It is known that casualties were caused during the period 8/13 July. During the night of 13/14 July 1917 the Battalion relieved 11 Kings Own in front line trenches east of Villiers-Plouich.
It is not clear whether Daniel Trevett was fatally wounded during the course of this relief, or earlier in the month while under artillery fire.
