Biography 

Charles Crawley was born in 1895 to boot maker George Ernest Rochester Crawley and his wife Rose. Charles was the second oldest of six children.

In 1911, Charles was living with his family at 21 Oak Row, High Street in Barkingside, Ilford. At this time, he worked as a messenger in the Post Office.

Charles enlisted as a Private in the 6th Battalion, Royal Inniskilling. He was sent to Gallipoli in Turkey and was killed in action on 7th August 1915 at Suvla Bay. Charles was buried in Green Hull Cemetery in Suvla, Turkey.
