Biography 

Arthur Henry Faiers was born on 8th October 1896 in Forest Gate. He was the oldest of four children born to Charles and Emma Faiers.

In 1901, Arthur was living with his parents and younger brother, Percy, at 164 Sutton Court Road in West Ham. By 1911, Arthur was working as an assistant grocer, and he and his family had moved to 4 Stocks Cottages, High Road, Woodford Green. His parents had had two more children by this point, Violet and Daisy.

Arthur Henry Faiers enlisted in the army with the 26th Battalion, London Regiment. He was sent to the Western Front and was killed on 20th September 1917. His name appears on the Tyne Cot Memorial.
