Biography 

Born during 1895 in London or Woodford Green. 1911: Aged 16, he was the Grandson of James Porter, employed as a Houseboy at 3 Gladstone Cottages, Castle Yard, Woodford Green.  

He enlisted at Walthamstow and went to France on 28th July 1915. In September 1915 the Battalion was deployed in the vicinity of Ypres. Platoon Commander Lt. C.A. Orchard described him as a brave and worthy NCO who could be relied upon. His medal card reveals that he Died of Wounds, but further details are unknown.
