A memorial inside St. Paul’s Church, Goodmayes, commemorates 54 ‘men of the parish and friends’ who died in the First World War. The names are inscribed on the brass plaque which is set within an ornately carved wooden mount, the top of which features an effigy depicting Christ on the cross. The three columns of names are separated by a linked leaf design.
