A cast metal plaque at St Gabriel’s Church, Park Road, Aldersbrook, records the names of 58 men who died in the First World War. The plaque is framed in gold and features a gold cross at the top. The names of the dead, in gold lettering, are presented in two columns. Below the names is the epitaph: ‘Greater Love hath no man than this’, and comes from the longer verse which continues: ‘than to lay down his life for his friends.’
