Two teachers and 34 former pupils of Goodmayes Junior School who died in the First World War are commemorated on a memorial mounted in the main assembly hall of the school. Their names are inscribed on a brass plaque which is set in the centre of an ornate buff marble surround featuring the face of a winged cherub on the supporting mantle and an Essex coat of arms at the apex.
