Biography
Samuel Robert Dudley was born in Staffordshire in 1864. He had lived in Grays, Essex, before moving with his wife to Tottenham, north London, by 1901. By 1906, they were living at 112 Dudley Road, Ilford, with their parlour maid Harriet Sidley, from Essex, and a general maid, Selina Owers from Bethnal Green.
Samuel was a physician surgeon and despite being 50 years old when war broke out, volunteered for the Royal Army Medical Corps. He died (it is not known how) on 21st December 1915.
