Robert Russell Walker, the eldest of five children, was born in 1890 to Robert (Commercial Traveler in General Drapery) and Alice Walker. In 1891 he is living with his family at Jasmine Villa Daisy Road, South Woodford. In 1901 he is living with his family at 5 Clifton Terrace, Maybank Road. In the 1911 census he is listed as an Accounts Clerk to a Chartered Accountant, living with his mother and four siblings at 5 Georges Cottages, Violet Road, South Woodford. His Probate record gives the address of 88 Pulteney Road, South Woodford, which was also the family home. His father Robert had passed away in 1902.
Robert Walker joined the Army in 1914, and by 1918 he had been Commissioned. He was sent to the Western Front and killed in action on 23rd March 1918. He was buried in Savy British Cemetery, France.
