Leonard Walter Fuller was born in 1888 to Samuel and Ann Fuller. In 1911, he lived at the family home at Ursula Villas, Grove Hill, South Woodford.
In September 1914 he married Mabel Jenner in Croydon, and they set up home in Wallington, Surrey. He enlisted at Croydon, opting to join the Royal Garrison Artillery, in which he had previous experience. However he was to serve with the East Surrey Regiment, and was transferred to the 5th Battalion, Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders. He was sent to the Western Front, where he was killed in action on 3rd May 1917. His name is listed on the Arras Memorial at Faubourg d’Amiens Cemetery, Arras, France.
