John Edgar Wolton, born September 1899, was the oldest child of Edgar and Alice Wolton. In 1911, the Wolton’s lived at 150 Vicarage Lane, Stratford, West Ham, at which time John was eleven years old and still at school.
John enlisted in the army with the 18th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers, and was sent to France. He was killed on the 24th May 1918 in France. His name is recorded on the Pozièrs Memorial.
