Biography
Born in 1891 at Woodford, son of Thomas George (Domestic Coachman) and Fanny Page. 1901: A Scholar at Churchfields School with his family at 4 Fullers Road, South Woodford. 1911: A Pastry Cooks Assistant at Chalkley’s Bakery George Lane, still living with his family at 4 Fullers Road. He joined up in 1914.
A Driver in the Army Service Corps horse transport, he arrived in the Egyptian theatre of operations on 12th September 1915. Having survived the war he remained in the Middle East as part of the post war garrison and, as he was about to head home, died there from Pneumonia on 20th December 1918.
