This Roll of Honour is of the personnel of Claybury Hospital who served and fell in the 1914-1918 war.
The memorial is a handwritten Roll of Honour, sewn to a backing and mounted in a glazed wooden frame. Of the 111 names recorded, 10 died in action. The names of those who died have been indicated by a cross after the surname.
The Roll of Honour was displayed in the Boardroom at Claybury Hospital until 1999, after which it was transferred to the Royal British Legion Loughton Branch by Mr Peter Cogger, a former counsellor at the hospital. RBL Loughton gave the Roll to Loughton Town Council in 2021, who kindly donated it to Redbridge Museum & Heritage Centre in 2022. With thanks to Loughton Town Council Environment and Heritage Committee and Paul Hoy, Council Services Manager.
